Module 3 Discussion

DQ1 Provide three examples of community health nursing practice roles that contribute to the core functions of public health. Discuss how these roles meet two QSEN standards.

DQ2 What are the critical competencies needed for public health professionals in dealing with man-made or natural disaster emergencies? Provide a rationale for why you selected these competencies.

Module 5 Discussion

DQ1 Reflect on your personal and professional values as you transitioned to a baccalaureate-prepared nurse. Provide at least two examples on how your personal and professional values have impacted your current (or future) leadership role. Include in your discussion response how you plan to continue your professional development?

DQ2 As you explore, review, and reflect on the courses, highlight how the courses in your BSN journey helped you integrate professional values and role behaviors to enhance the image, science, and discipline of nursing? DQ1 Reflect on the quality health indicators that impact the care of diverse ethnic and cultural populations. Select one possible trend based upon the increasingly diverse population in the United States. You may review Healthy People 2000 and 2010 to understand how health and illness trends have changed over the last 20 years. Take your selected topic and provide at least three health and illness recommendations to improve the health of the nation by 2030.

DQ2 Reflect on how Health Care Reform has influenced health care. Based upon your experiences and proposed future strategies, how will you participate in shaping health policy to deliver equitable individual and population resources as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team?

The role of the global citizen requires an understanding of the unpredictable health care forces, ethical and legal issues, and socio-cultural sensitivity. Reflect upon your role as a global citizen and share two examples about how your global perspective has expanded throughout your BSN journey.

DQ1 Write a retrospective about your peer review experiences in the RN-BSN program. How was this experience valuable to your professional role development? What would you change?

DQ2 Reflect upon your learning experience in the RN-BSN program. How has your experience with the RN-BSN program changed your values or feelings about your skills or knowledge? Reflect upon your experience in the RN-BSN Program and how you have met each program learning outcome. Summarize the findings in a 5-7 page paper in APA format which address the 10 RN-BSN Program Learning Outcomes as defined in the Grading Rubric.

Assume leadership roles on multidisciplinary teams within health care organizations.

Enhance professional nursing practice through the use of research and evidence-based practice.

Integrate methods of research and scholarship to make and prioritize diagnoses.

Design care for individuals, groups and communities.

Incorporate methods of health promotion and education in nursing care of individuals, families and groups with simple to complex health care needs.

Examine the problems of contemporary health and illness.

Demonstrate the role of the global citizen.

Collaborate with other groups to shape health policies that affect both individual and community health.

Compose your findings in 5-7 page paper in APA format. Include a minimum of four scholarly references. The title page and reference list are not included in the 5-7 page range.


Module 4 Assignment 2

As a nursing leader you will be required to implement many proposals. This is an exercise to help you learn the processes or steps required for implementation. You may have created a plan in a previous course, such as BSN415 Management Orientation Proposal, on the job or have an idea for such a plan. This assignment represents an implementation action plan. Include an analysis of your action plan to present the proposal and the process for implementation at the site for which it was developed or your current place of employment. You will be addressing key elements of implementation according to the rubric requirements; however, please note that there is no expectation that you will implement this plan. If you are using a plan from a previous course, you must make significant changes to your paper or cite yourself. Using previously graded work is self-plagiarism.

Address the following points:

Summary of the plan you wish to implement and the clearly defined location
